We analyzed the type and the frequency of the pieces offered on the market, including the study of around 2000 auction catalogs and going back more than 35 years. This helped me to recover statistically the produced quantities and gave a cross-check with the other information in data such as the diverse Patek Philippe litterature.
The table here under illustrates the percentage calculated for each identified series and its production dates.
This method, « BMC – Back to the Market Coefficient » unables the series production reconstruction and gives a good approach to the produced quantities, series by series. It is quite interesting to notice which variants are modifying the percentages, like time going through, wars, diverse crises or the importance of the object itself.
